17th Century Orton Hall is wonderful.
Wanting to book a relaxing weekend away for the family is not easy when you have a one year old in tow. For this reason Orton Hall seemed perfect in that it allowed for us to have separate areas to relax in the evening whilst our son slept in the bedroom.
I have read reviews where this accommodation has been slated for having tired furnishings and being cold. We did not find this at all. The furnishings and general condition of the apartment was wonderful, clean, comfortable and fully equipped. If perhaps people have found the communal areas a bit tired then perhaps they don’t like 17th century style, which lets face it is never going to be contemporary is it? The communal areas of the hall are fantastic. They are clean but more importantly are full of character charm and an elegance you can only get from an original 17th century building. Take a walk about at midnight in the dark, it is excitingly spooky!
All in all we found Orton Hall to be a magical and exiting place to stay full of charm and character and we had a wonderful time there.” B Gethin – Todmorden
